  • Spinal Energetics is a gentle, intuitive healing modality created by Dr. Sarah Jane. It blends Eastern mysticism with Western energetic and chiropractic principles to support the release of stored tension, emotion, and protective patterns in the body.

    Using a combination of light touch, energetic awareness, breath, and sound, Spinal Energetics works with the natural intelligence of your spine, nervous system, and energetic field. This approach honours the body’s innate wisdom - allowing healing to unfold at a pace that feels safe, sustainable, and led by you.

    Rather than focusing on fixing, Spinal Energetics creates space for your system to recalibrate gently. Over time, it can support greater physical ease, emotional clarity, and a deeper connection to yourself.

  • Each Spinal Energetics session is unique - both from person to person and even from one session to the next for the same individual. 

    There are many different experiences you might feel on the table, but common ones include sensations such as deep relaxation, a sense of safety, changes in breath, emotional release, vocalisation of sounds, heat/cold, visuals, spontaneous movement, the desire to move or stretch or increased body awareness. These responses can vary widely and aren’t always linear - some sessions might feel calm and grounding, while others bring more active shifts or emotional processing.

    It’s important to note that the experience always unfolds and at a pace that feels right for your body, and it may take a few sessions to build that mind-body connection. 

  • How you feel after a Spinal Energetics session can vary from person to person - and even from one session to the next. Some people feel deeply relaxed, calm, or sleepy, while others may feel more energised, emotionally open, or reflective.

  • Not necessarily. The goal of a Spinal Energetics session is building a deeper connection between the mind and body. Each person’s experience is unique, and your body will guide the session in the way that feels safest and most supportive for you.

    Movement is not a requirement for healing, nor does more movement mean a more successful session. The body will unwind and respond at its own pace, always prioritising what feels safe and appropriate in the moment.

  • No. While some movements during a session may feel spontaneous or involuntary, you are always in charge of your body. You can stop or adjust at any time. Spinal Energetics works with your system - not on it - so everything that unfolds happens in collaboration with your body’s own readiness and sense of safety.

  • Your body may continue to process and integrate the shifts that have taken place after the session has ended. Stay well hydrated, and if you’re feeling tired, allow yourself to rest or take things more slowly. Gentle activities like walking, journaling, yoga, or being in nature can help support your system. 

    Integration is just as valuable as the session itself, and caring for yourself afterwards helps deepen the work.

  • This can vary depending on your individual needs and what you're looking to support. In the beginning, you may benefit from more frequent sessions to help build the mindbody connection. 

    As your system begins to feel more regulated and connected, you may feel like maintenance sessions, are sufficient or come in when you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or in need of extra support.

    Spinal Energetics can be experienced remotely. Distance sessions work with the same energetic principles and are just as powerful as in-person sessions.

  • Yes, you can. It’s a good idea to stay hydrated before your session. If you're eating, try to keep it light - since you'll be lying on your stomach for part of the session, a heavy meal might feel uncomfortable. Just listen to your body and do what feels best for you.

  • Wear something comfortable that allows you to move and relax easily. Soft, breathable clothing is ideal to help you feel at ease throughout the session.

  • Yes, you can drive after a session. However, listen to your body - if you feel tired or need rest, take your time before driving.

  • Although Spinal Energetics is a gentle approach, it is contraindicated in the following situations:

    • First trimester of pregnancy

    • Last few weeks of pregnancy before birth

    • Children under the age of 12 (children between 12 and 18 need parental guardian consent and presence. 

    • Over 75

    • Diagnosed severe PTSD

    • Severe mental health conditions (bipolar, schizophrenia, psychosis)

    • Currently taking a cocktail of heavy medications that alters brain chemistry

    • Recent physical injuries, fractures, and/or surgeries

    • Epilepsy (grand mal seizures)

    • History of diagnosis of aneurysms

    • Some cardiovascular problems (please get in touch to discuss)

    • History of seizures

    • Severe asthma

    • Heart disease/heart conditions

    • Hospitalisation for any psychiatric condition or spiritual emergency within the past 3 years

    • Any other medical, psychiatric or physical condition which would affect or impair the ability to engage in activities involving intense physical and/or emotional release.

  • The nervous system is the foundation on which a healthy mind and body are built. You can think of it as the master control system of the body which integrates mind, body, and environment.

    From the immune system, digestive system, reproductive system, cardiovascular system, musculoskeletal system, and all other systems in the body which govern physical, mental and emotional health - the nervous system has huge impact.

    Therefore, there are countless symptoms, ailments, and experiences that nervous system work can help with. Some common examples include, but are not limited to, chronic pain, anxiety, stress, autoimmune, sleep disturbances, burnout, fatigue and hormonal imbalance.

  • Nutrition and lifestyle changes set the foundation for a healthy nervous system, creating a safe and supportive environment that enhances the healing work of Spinal Energetics. By tending to these fundamentals, your body feels secure enough to unwind and gain the most from each session, allowing healing to unfold more deeply. While emotional and energetic work is essential, nutrition and lifestyle habits that keep the body trapped in fight-or-flight mode can limit your progress. By integrating both, we ensure your body feels safe and supported on every level, enabling your healing to move forward smoothly and sustainably.

  • Yes, I sometimes incorporate homeopathy in the form of tissue salts and sarcodes, as well as remedies that feel very clear and appropriate. While I am qualified in homeopathy, I currently do not offer full homeopathic consultations.
